Banana Chocolate Wonton

A week ago I stopped by to Steamy Kitchen Blog. I saw her recipe Chocolate Wonton.
I tried to make it, but I added banana as the filling.
It turned out good and delicious. I love it, because it is very easy to make. We can change the filling according to our preference, and it's also good with vanilla ice cream. Next time I'll try strawberry or raspberry..
Every body who joined church home group meeting today enjoyed it.. I'm glad they like it.

Papaya Lemon

Today I went to Walmart near my house. I saw papaya at fruit section. I couldn't help my self not to buy it. I also grabbed some lemons. I really remember my childhood. These kind of fruits are often available on our dinning table after lunch. My dad loves to eat papaya sprinkled with lemon juice and sugar.
This afternoon, I prepared the same kind of dessert as I'm thinking of my dad who is in ICU Borromeus Hospital in Bandung. Bapak, I miss you so much...You are in my prayers.

It smells like my childhood...

Recipe :

1 riped papaya, cut into square shape
1 lemon, squeeze for extracting the liquid

Put papaya into a bowl, sprinkle with lemon juice, if you like you can sprinkle with small amount of sugar ( I skiped sugar this time).

Rendang ala Bumbu Bangka 47

Homemade Hot Chocolate

Just want to try something new...
Usually I will be satisfy by having instant hot chocolate.
This afternoon I'm so eager to try this recipe.
The recipe is taken form ALLRECIPE, it has 4.5 stars review, over 2000 people has given their review.
I chose to use the stove instead of microwave.

3 cups milk ~ (jane: soy milk)
1/3 cup semisweeat chocolate grated (jane: semisweet choco chips mini morsel)
1 tablespoon white sugar
1/2 tea spoon ground cinammon
1 egg

Direction :
  1. Put milk into a microwave-safe container and cook on High in microwave for 2 minutes (I used stove). Mix in chocolate, sugar, and cinnamon. In a small bowl, whisk an egg until smooth, then mix it into the chocolate mixture.
  2. Return to the stove and cook on High for 3 to 4 minutes or until foamy (be careful not to let it boil.) Whisk until smooth and pour into 3 mugs. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.

my review : ...the result is too thick, and because of thinking there's an egg in hot chocolate makes my husband hesitated to taste it..he sad, "it's weird" ...*I should have not told him about the egg ;-) .I think I will skip the egg next time

Kopi Aroma Bandung

Though there are many kind of coffee are available here...
One of my way to heal my homesick is by having this coffee.
My friend brought it two months ago from Bandung, Indonesia.

My favorite is "mokka Arabika".....hmmm... the aroma is bringing me back to the store of this coffee. Small old building, friendly vendor...at Banceuy Street, near ABC Street and Pasar Baru.
It was so funny, the vendor prohibited me to buy 1 kilogram of coffee at a time...He said, " it's better for you to buy just a quarter of kilogram, after you finished that batch, come again...so you will always have the best taste of coffee". He will grind the coffee beans right away after we ordered.
I also love the packaging, they still preserve the old style and Dutch words on it.

Spring Props Hunting

Since I'm learning food photography, props become very interesting for me.
With low budget, we can still find beautiful props :-)
All I had to do just to open my eyes and do browsing patiently at a thrift store near my house this afternoon.

I was back home so happy with these vintage springy props ...
